Christmas 2008

'Twas the days before Xmas
And all round the Flow
Not a creature was stirring
Because of the snow.

The boats were all stored
And so were the docks
While snowmobiles tried
Avoiding snow-covered rocks.

Then out on the lawn
There arose such a clatter
I put down my beer
To see what was the matter.

Away to the window
I flew in a flash
Pulled back triple-thick curtains
and cleaned off the glass.
There in the snow
Was my greatest fear
The munching and crunching
Of ten hungry deer.

They missed not a branch
In their daily feed
There goes the rose bushes
And all the bird seed.

Oh I could have chased them
And made the deer go
But you don't run outside
When it's fifteen below.

So I sit and think warm thoughts
Of friends far and near
And wish you Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year!

Oh yes, there's one more image we should share.....

It's always better to park a  boat and trailer with the wheels...down....
Sadly, on 12/28/08,  Dave & Karen Chauvin found that 60-70 mph. winds don't just topple trees.  Hopefully, the repairs will be quick and we'll see them cruising again this spring.
